Renee Salt, born Rywka Ruchla Berkowitz, is a Polish/British holocaust survivor. After the invasion and occupation of Poland in September 1939, German officers decided that they liked the family’s flat, so, as happened to many Polish families, Renee and her family were thrown out with no possessions.
