Special People is based on a true story of Diane Dupuy. Diane Dupuy creates a unique black light theatre company called Famous People Players. The cast consists of people who are developmenatlly challenged. Seven members of the cast play themselves in the movie as well as the man who discovered this talented performance group and gave them their start in show business: Liberace.
